Building Something That Lasts

What does it mean to truly build something that lasts?

It's more than passing down a set of keys. It's passing on values, responsibility, and a deep commitment to the community.

For the Revell family, that story began in 1936 -- in the heart of Verona -- when Wesley Revell was offered the chance to open a Ford dealership. Times were hard. The Great Depression still lingered, and most people couldn't afford a car. The years leading up to the Second World War brought even greater challenges for the automobile industry.

But Wesley was undeterred. From a modest general store -- right next to where the showroom stands today -- he kept the doors open through those difficult years. In 1946, his sons Harry and Glen joined him, learning the business from the ground up. Together, they built a reputation for trust, honesty, and care that became the foundation of Revell Ford's legacy.

In those early days, cars had to be driven from Ford's assembly plant in Detroit all the way to Verona, because there was no other way to get them here. There was no repair shop at first -- local garages did the servicing -- until Wesley added a two-bay service station, gas pumps, and a one-car showroom. That same year, they hired their first mechanic, a veteran returning from the war.

Larry and Alan grew up at the dealership and by the mid-1970s, they were both selling cars with their father Harry.  Close to 25 years ago Larry took on the leadership role with Alan by his side. They both followed in their late father's footsteps learning not just about cars, but about people and the importance of integrity in every interaction.

Today, Alan's son, Brad Revell, is looking forward to carry the torch as the fourth generation of the family to serve South Frontenac County, joined by Larry's sons, Nate and Josh Revell, who are bringing fresh energy, ideas, and a shared passion for the community. Together, they continue to grow the business while holding tight to the values that have defined it for nearly a century.

Over 89 years, Revell Ford Lincoln has grown from a small-town storefront into a mid-sized dealership with over 40 dedicated employees -- many of whom have been part of the team for decades.

Their story isn't just about selling vehicles. It's about service -- from delivering lunches to supporting youth programs, from a friendly handshake to a trusted repair. It's a commitment that runs in their blood, drives every kilometer, and fuels every connection.

In a world where businesses come and go, the Revell family has proven that true success is built on more than sales. It's built on people. It's built on trust. And it's built to last.
